I recorded underwater sounds from a pond upstate, using a Terranova Hydrophone. You can hear various species, who are more or less active depending on the time of day or night. The sounds are taken from 8hrs of daytime and 8hrs of nighttime recordings. Occasionally you hear crickets chirping, alas, crickets do not live under the water surface. A bug specialist identified the sounds as coming from a species of "Water Boatmen" (Corixidae). Without special microphones life under water is not easy to hear, so I projected the sounds using a parametric speaker. It only allows you to hear the sounds when you stand exactly in the beam of the speaker.
