“Proprioception (Body Awareness 2017)” is an assemblage of historic imagery, 70’s experimental video practices, and modern-day chaotic audio procedures.
A red airplane blanket emerges from between the legs of a woman, evoking the pouring forth of blood. Her slow movements, created by merging a sequence of stills, are strange and distorted, but exhibit unmistakably the effort and strain of a woman giving birth. With difficulty, a dead 3D bird is born, and then another, with plastic twisted through their stomachs.
Andrea Wolf's "Weather has been nice" is a series of generative video installations in which found vintage postcards are broken down into their elements. Creating an immersive audiovisual experience, the large-scale projections of ever-changing landscapes will be complemented by a recording of the sound pieces, embedded in beanbags created with Print All Over Me.
In "Methods Of Expansion And Contraction" disparate scenes and subjects form a continuous montage of contrastive timbres, textures and sonic eruptions, occasionally interrupted by quiet pulses. The work is presented on a 16-channel sound system, the sounds were created on a Buchla Music Easel and Hordijk Blippoo Box.
HAPPENLAND, curated by Almudena Baeza and Eva Davidova, presents installation, sculpture, video art, painting, photography and augmented reality by 10 internationally acclaimed artists from Spain, Brazil and USA.
The LEMUR GuitarBot (www.lemurbots.org), a collection of four MIDI-controlled monochords built by Eric Singer, is a beautiful soundsource, especially when also recorded with microphones to capture all the mechanical noises that surround it.
