Jun 21: MakeMusicNY Dark Circuits Orchestra
New York University (NYU)
35 West 4th Street, Room 303
Take part in a massive ensemble of electronic instruments! Using flashcards and hand signs, Hans Tammen has worked with large ensembles using electronic instruments for way over a decade. As part of this year’s Make Music NY at NYU, we will work with any electronics that make sound: synths, computers, drum machines, self-designed or circuit bent instruments, no-input mixers, network sniffers, or other instruments we may have never heard of yet. As long as it has circuits and makes noise, you’re in. We are looking for about 20+ players to take part in the workshop and performance.
We’re starting at 3pm to get familiar with the graphical score and learn the piece for the performance at 4pm. You HAVE to do the workshop to take part in the performance, because we’ll look at everybody’s setup to find the best place for you in the piece. And bring friends: workshop and performance are free, and open to the public, of course!
You have to sign up beforehand to take part in this ensemble, we need to make sure that we can accommodate your instrument. Email Hans Tammen at
