Dead Sea Horns meet the Cyclebox

Thursday, December 12, 8pm at The Firehouse – 246 Frost St. Brooklyn, NY 11211
Bark & Scream Series, curated by Satoshi Takeishi

The Dead Sea Horns are Dan Blake, Edward Rollin, Yoni Kretzmer on saxophones and other woodwind instruments, and Bob Hovey on trombone. Hans Tammen plays the cyclebox. Their performance follows Cicero’s advice that “The art of life is to deal with problems as they arise, rather than destroy one’s spirit by worrying about them too far in advance”, they can be amusing and entertaining conversationalists, ready with a clever comeback when they fail, and are able to tell unlikely but convincing stories that cast themselves in a good light. They can be very effective in presenting themselves well and are often very likable and charming.

As Plutarch remarked: “Good listening is the point of departure for living well.”

Further information on the instrumentation can be found on Wikipedia: Saxophone players are called saxophonists. A person who plays the trombone is called a trombonist. The page “Cyclebox” does not exist. You can ask for it to be created. No information about players who play the English Horn.
